Bridge View 10 Year Anniversary

November 2009

On 26th November Ulster Estates collaborated with FMAL to celebrate the 10th Birthday of the Bridge View Building. An open Invitation was extended to the tenants and special guests to gather for afternoon tea consisting of various cakes and treats including a chocolate fountain.

In the conference room a video was shown depicting the opening of Bridge View in 1999. This video sparked off many memories for several of the original tenants and also in particular, one special guest, Mr Martin Callan without whose vision and enterprise Bridge View would not have been built.

Ulster Estates generously donated a commemorative gift to each and everyone of the tenants and from the feedback we received we can surmise that the occasion had been thoroughly enjoyed by all.

BIFM Training

November 2009

The key to maximising benefit for any business is maintaining properly trained employees within the organisation. This is achieved through professional training and throughout 2009 FMAL  ran three (3)  of the BIFM’s core Facilities Management courses in Aberdeen for our employees.   These courses were also made available to the public.

The courses that we invited BIFM Training to undertake for us were:-

Understanding FM

The Professional FM, Part 1

The Professional FM, Part 2

BlueSky Teambuilding

September 2009

Communication skills are of vital importance for any organisation to succeed and this is why we recently enlisted the support of BlueSky Teambuilding.

BlueSky, who are one of the UK’s leading event management companies, organised two team building days, which all our employees participated in.   These two days were both highly successful and great fun and allowed everyone to “fine tune” their communication skills

Lochter just outside Oldmeldrum is looking a fair bet for some teambuilding in 2010 !!

IIP Reaccreditation

August 2009

FMAL were successful in achieving the IIP standard once again.

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the Investors in People Standard again.   IIP is the national quality standard which sets a level of good practice for training and development of people to achieve business goals. This standard provides a national framework for delivering business improvement through people.

Our continued success in achieving this standard again shows our commitment to the development and training of our employees.

FMAL has held the IIP standard since 2005.
